Memery Crystal’s CEO Nick Davis has been quoted in an article by the Sunday Express looking at the potential benefits of the Bank of England cutting interest rates for the first time in seven years this week.
On the prospect of an increase in international investment into the UK following the Brexit vote, Nick had this to say: “Since the Leave vote, we have had several enquiries from overseas clients and law firms, predominantly from the US, regarding UK listed acquisition targets. The weakening pound means that UK-listed companies have become 15 per cent cheaper for US buyers almost overnight.” For the full Sunday Express article, please follow this link.
Whilst the decrease in value of the pound has been worrying for a number British businesses so far, some are now suggesting that there has never been a better time for foreign corporations and individuals to invest in the UK.
Memery Crystal’s international focus makes us perfectly suited to support clients looking to invest in the UK. We agree that the current economic client presents a fantastic opportunity for investment in UK businesses – we recently published an article taking a more in-depth look at what Brexit will really mean for the UK economy, and we have already seen some positive outcomes of the referendum result with the price of gold recently hitting a two-year high.
