Memery Crystal obtains landmark Court of Appeal decision

Memery Crystal is delighted to have been successful on behalf of longstanding client Gulf Keystone Petroleum following the latest judgment from the Court of Appeal.

The judgment, which has today been handed down in Excalibur Ventures LLC & Ors -v- Psari Holdings Limited & Ors [2016] EWCA Civ 1144, sets a precedent for litigation funders, placing an equal liability on them as on their fundees with regards to compensating the costs of the successful party when they are on the losing side.

This case is the latest in a series of comprehensive, landmark victories for Memery Crystal’s Dispute Resolution team and longstanding client Gulf Keystone Petroleum. Previous victories for Gulf saw Memery Crystal awarded “Dispute Resolution Team of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards 2014 and “Litigation Team of the Year” at The Lawyer Awards 2014, the first firm to do so.
