Rumit Nanji will co-lead the Banking and Finance practice alongside Partner, Matthew Lindsay.
Memery Crystal, the international multidisciplinary London-based law firm, part of RBG Holdings plc, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rumit Nanji to Joint Head of the Banking and Finance practice, effective immediately. Rumit, a Partner at the firm since 2016, will co-lead the department alongside Matthew Lindsay, Partner.
Rumit Nanji specialises in property finance, private M&A, leveraged finance, and private equity. He has been with Memery Crystal since 2011, when he joined as an Associate. His influence extends beyond the UK, as he also plays a significant role on the firm’s Africa desk, with a particular focus on transactions in the East Africa region.
The appointment reflects the growth of the Banking and Finance practice at Memery Crystal which now has 5 partners and 9 fee earners and acts on a variety of real estate and finance transactions, corporate and M&A finance, natural resources and oil and gas finance as well as alternative finance. In addition, Matthew and Rumit have worked together as a successful team over the last 8 years and this appointment is an exciting development as they continue to grow the practice area in the marketplace.
Over the years, Rumit has been instrumental in scaling the Banking and Finance practice at Memery Crystal. His notable achievements include representing Shanta Gold in its financing transaction with Investec and loan notes finance raises, handling various property finance transactions for borrower and lender clients (including various complex high-profile matters in the market) and acting on a variety of corporate and M&A finance transactions.
